USTA Tennessee Teams Up With Kroger

KrogerNashville, TN - July 13, 2004 - The USTA Tennessee is excited to announce a new partnership with the Kroger Company, one of the nation's largest grocery retailers. With this partnership, the USTA Tennessee adds a great fundraising opportunity in which to help their mission "to promote and develop the growth of tennis in Tennessee."

Kroger's fundraising program is for all non-profit organizations. The USTA Tennessee will purchase Kroger gift cards from the Gift Services Department and then sell them to USTA Tennessee supporters for full value. When supporters recharge their cards at the store, USTA Tennessee earn a 5% rebate from Kroger. When the gift card balance is depleted, the card needs to be recharged (or add value to) in order for it not to be voided out of the system. A period of 90 days is given for cards with a zero balance.

Supporters can purchase their Kroger Gift Cards by calling the USTA Tennessee office at
800-521-4936. They cannot be purchased at stores. Only one card needs to be purchased. As long as the gift card is recharged there is no need to be in constant contact with the USTA Tennessee for new cards. You will be supporting the USTA mission on your own time!

The gift card is accepted in all Kroger stores throughout the U.S. and can be sent to family and friends out of state and still benefit the USTA Tennessee as long as the card is recharged. Supporters can purchase anything in a Kroger store with a gift card with the exception of fuel and services. Services include: money orders, Western Union, lottery tickets, stamps, hunting/fishing license, Ticket Master.

All tennis supporters, family members and friends are invited to assist in the effort by the USTA Tennessee to help fund community development, community tennis associations and their programs by purchasing the Kroger Gift Cards. Please call the USTA Tennessee office to purchase your Gift Card today.

Founded in 1881, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in this country.
