CTA Grants

Below are a list of grants available from the National Office and the Southern Section of the USTA.

USTA GRANTS:

  1. USTA Schools Program Short Court Tennis Grant: Matching funds to provide Wilson short court tennis equipment at a 2-for-1 price to after-school or intramural tennis programs as a follow-up to the Schools Program.
  2. USTA/NJTL Invitational Camp Scholarship: Funding for 12-14 year old intermediate level NJTL players who exemplify strong values and personal character and who require financial assistance to attend a week-long instructional camp.
  3. USA Tennis Foundation Scholarships: Five scholarships available through the USTA foundation. Funding for USTA junior program players with strong values, personal character, scholastic ability, and motivation towards higher education. Application available online.
  4. USA Tennis Foundation Incentive Award: Funding to help pay for lesson and tournament fees for present or former USTA junior program players who are middle school or high school players with strong values and personal character and who require some financial assistance. Application available online.
  5. USTA High Performance Competition & Training Grant: (Several categories exist) Assistance available for individual players who are highly ranked at the sectional & national levels, and participating in competitive tournaments.
  6. USTA Excellence Program Grant: Funding to USTA Local Excellence Training (LET) Programs for minority youth players to expand their tennis experience beyond the local level and to foster minority participation within the USTA nationwide.
  7. USPTR/USTA Schools Program and NJTL Grants: Established by the USPTR and USTA to encourage and reward USPTR teaching professionals who support the USTA Schools and NJTL programs.
  8. USTA Future Stars Program Grants: Provides funding for grassroots USTA pathway programs to add a more advanced component to their program. This is a proposal grant, no more than 2 pages. Maximum award is $5,000.

USTA/SOUTHERN SECTION GRANTS:

  1. USTA/Southern Section Community Development/Local Membership Grant: Funding to increase participation in USTA programs and strengthen the bond between Community Tennis Associations and USTA offices (District and Section). These grants are renewable annually.
  2. USTA/Southern Section NJTL Start-up or Expansion Grant: Funding to develop new NJTL Chapters or to expand existing chapters.
  3. USTA/Southern Section Multicultural Participation Grant: Funding for programs expanding to new population groups made up predominantly of minorities (African-American, Asian-American, Native-American, or Hispanic).
  4. USTA/Southern Section Junior Recreation Grant: Funding for the creation or expansion of public junior tennis programs.
  5. USTA/Southern Section Wheelchair Grant: Funding for the creation or expansion of wheelchair tennis programs.
  6. USTA/Southern Section Summer Camp Scholarship: Scholarships offered to attend one week sessions at summer camps and academies across the South for youth who need financial assistance, exemplify strong personality values and character, and are highly motivated in tennis. Affiliation with an NJTL Chapter, while not mandatory, increases the chances of obtaining a camp scholarship.
  7. USTA/Southern Section USA Tennis 1-2-3 Grant: Special grant offered for the development, growth, and promotion of USA Tennis 1-2-3 programs.
  8. USTA/Southern Section Schools Equipment Grant: Grants given to schools that participate in USA School Tennis and offer a USTA pathway program such as USA Tennis 1-2-3 or USA Team Tennis (red, white or blue) after school.
