History of the USTA Tennessee Tennis Association

Founded in 1977, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Tennessee Tennis Association is the governing body for the sport of tennis in Tennessee and Bristol, VA. A not-for-profit organization, Tennessee is one of nine states that make up the USTA Southern Section which is the largest section of the USTA. With 12,000+ USTA members living in Tennessee and Bristol, VA, we help the USTA Southern Section account for approximately 25% of the total USTA membership.

A professional staff housed in Nashville, TN carries out the USTA Tennessee daily operations, but policy is formed and much of the organization's work is executed via a Board and committee structure of volunteers.
